Metalic Border in PSP
PSP - Paint Shop Pro
A tutorial on how to make a metalic border in PSP
PSP - tut - Laurie

This is how I made the border for my Christmas set but it works well for border in any color if you are looking for a metallic look
First select the area you would like to make a border for ............ if you want the border around the whole image go to
selections ............. select all ........ you will see the marching ants.
Then go back to selections again ............ then to modify ......... then to select selection border
A new box will appear make sure "inside" is checked and you can adjust the size of your border where it says "Border width".
I usually use anything from 10 to 20 .......... but you can use any width you like.
Then hit "ok" ......... you will now see the marching ants where your border will be.
Now create a new layer ..........
set your color to a gradient ....... with the gold border I used the Metallic Gold ............ style "linear" , angle 55 , and repeats 0 ..........
Flood fill inside the area that the marching ants are
Now go to "Effects" ............ "3D"
Then "Inner Bevel"
Then use the settings
Bevel 1
Width 8
Smoothness 10
Depth 5
Ambiance 0
Shininess 80
Color - white
Angle 315
Intensity 25
Elevation 40
SAVE THIS SETTING AND NAME IT METALLIC FOR FUTURE USE
Then hit "ok"
If you like the color you are done ........... however I am never satisfied so now ...............
Go to "Adjust"
Then "Color Balance" .........
Then "Manual Color Balance"
A new box will appear ......... make sure the "preset target color" box is checked.
In the box below that go to metals .............. then choose one of the golds.
Now you can change the source by moving your mouse over the image and clicking on different colors in your image. Depending on your source you can get lighter or darker effects. Once you are satisfied with the color hit ok ................ and you are done!
