A tutorial on how to make easy beveled Text

This is a short tutorial for PSP 9

 

Open a new canvas, lets use 300 x 300 (pixels), resolution 300 (pixels per inch), click on raster background, color depth 16 million, color transparent

*select your text tool, create as vector

*I used the font Adorable.  Select a font with thin lines

*On the right hand side go to your color palate and choose the color you want to use for your text.  I used a gradient fill (I love using gradients) but use whatever color you want.

*click on your transparent canvas and adjust font size, I used 250, click apply

*Now you have your font with your nodes so you can adjust the size further if you would like.  When font is size you like, go to Selections>From vector object and select.  Then again go to selections>promote selection to layer and select.  Now go to Layers>Merge>Merge visable

*Go to effects>inner bevel and use these settings.  Use bevel #1

Width- 10       Smoothness- 6    Depth- 4     Ambience- 0      Shininess- 40

Color- white     Angle- 315    Intensity- 30     Elevation- 40. then click OK.

*Go to Effects>Drop shawdow and use these settings

Vertical- 5  Horizontal- 5   Opacity- 60   Blur- 10   Color Black  

Click OK.  Go to selections>Select none.

Now, save image as a png file and you are done.  Should look like the image below.

 

Play around with different fonts and different settings.
